BROMCOM & MyChildatSchool (MCAS)

Bromcom Student Data Platform

At The Roseland Academy, we are committed to continuously improving how we manage student data. To enhance our systems, we are transitioning from SIMS to Bromcom, a modern, cloud-based student data platform widely used across UK secondary schools.

Why Bromcom?

For many years, we have used SIMS to store key student information, including contact details, attendance records, behaviour and achievement data, and assessments. Following a thorough review, our Trust has chosen Bromcom due to its enhanced functionality and improved data management capabilities. This change allows us to:

  • Analyse student data more effectively to support learning and development.

  • Streamline school operations for greater efficiency.

  • Provide additional useful features for both the school and parents/carers.

What is MyChildAtSchool (MCAS)?

MCAS is a parent portal that allows you to view your child's academic performance in real time via a web browser or mobile app and will replace the School Gateway App. This secure online portal allows parents and carers to access important information about their child’s education, including attendance, behaviour, achievements, and assessment results. Through the platform, you can also update contact details and communicate directly with the school. The integration of Bromcom with MCAS provides a seamless experience for accessing student data, making it easier for parents and carers to stay informed and involved in their child’s progress.

Data Security & Compliance

We want to reassure parents and carers that all student data will continue to be stored securely and in full compliance with data protection regulations. While the system we use is changing, the type of data we collect and how we use it remains the same – solely for managing students’ education and the operation of the school.
