We have discovered through the course of today that the main water feed to the school has frozen in the roof pipes. We have had water from the school tanks, which has now run dry and there is no water to any of the school. We have engineers working but as it stands now, with the temperature cooling, it is extremely unlikely the pipes will thaw by morning and the school cannot operate without water as this is essential for toilets, hygiene and the canteen kitchen.
I have therefore left with no alternative but to close the school tomorrow, 13 December. This is extremely frustrating and not a decision any of us want to make.
Our Teachers will set work via Google Classrooms and students should aim to log in and work through their subjects following their normal timetables from 9:00am. Teachers will be available to support via the Google Classroom chat throughout the day.
We will update the situation tomorrow via our website, facebook, text and email.
With best wishes and apologies for this unforeseen circumstance.
